Interesting Facts Hinduism: amongst the most glaring of all Hinduism facts is the awakening that we are a soul atman... a cosmic consciousness on its cosmic life cycle of 8.4 million manifestations... that entailed an earthly journey of 96.4 million years! Our life is not limited by 70 to 80 years... the average lifespan of a human being!

We have millions of years to go before journey of life came to an end. As a soul atman... our journey of life ceased to exist moment we reached 8.4 millionth manifestation... the last in cosmic life cycle! This last stage of cosmic life is reached moment human beings gained enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and finally salvation (moksha)!

Does this mean travelling spiritual path expedites our cosmic travel, Yes, spiritual journey is the only route to gaining enlightenment in life... reaching God Almighty in present life time! If spiritual journey was that important... why almost above 99.9% human beings world over travelled path of religion... path of rituals?

Path of religion... rituals is an easy path compared to spiritual path... path of unknown! Travelling spiritual path has its pitfalls... for a serious seeker of spirituality the whole world becomes one family! Our bondage... Moha with our immediate family loses its shine. Every father in the world becomes our father, every mother like our mother.

So much so that we do not remain attached even to our children! For a traveler of spiritual path... all become children of God... one big family! Towards our beloved wife we behave like a brother! It is more of a sister and brother relationship between wife and husband... something that was practiced by Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa... one who gained enlightenment in his lifetime!

The second most interesting facts of Hinduism are existence of God Almighty in all its glory! Those who disputed this important fact of life deprived self of grace of God Almighty all the time! If we exist... if souls' atmans existed in cosmos... so does God Almighty! In fact, God Almighty existed within us in miniscule form as our soul atman.

God Almighty truly existed within all living beings in miniscule form as a soul atman! Every single insect, plant and animal life had its beginning with a soul atman manifesting the form! Unless souls' atmans manifested life in cosmic system... the whole cosmic system carried no meaning! It is only through complex process of evolution and karma life moved ahead in cosmic life cycle.

In Hinduism a soul is termed atman.

Our existence as a soul atman and existence of God Almighty are two irrefutable Hinduism facts none can deny!

Furthermore spirituality played a very vital role in evolution of human beings! We are primarily a spirit... a cosmic consciousness that needs gaining absolute purity! By indulgence in karma... a soul atman finally removed dross impurities within pace by pace... step-by-step! Manifestation after manifestation... body of body life moved ahead in cosmic life cycle!

Unless human beings travelled spiritual path... evolution of human beings on cosmic scale was not possible! None ever reached God... nor gained enlightenment via path of religion (path of rituals)! For reaching God in present life... for reaching stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and finally salvation (moksha)... undertaking spiritual journey was an absolute must!

We must never confuse religion with spirituality! Both religion and spirituality had different connotations! Religion is the path to keep flock of human beings bonded together from going astray! Morality and ethics form basis of religion. For conducting our day-to-day affairs of life religion was necessitated... never spirituality!

If we desire knowing our true inner self... if we desire gaining enlightenment in present life... if we desire reaching God in present life... our travelling spiritual path was necessitated! It is spirituality that took us on journey of inner domain... our soul atman... the spirit within! It is only by dwelling in spirituality human beings finally unveiled hidden cosmic truths of life.

Path of spirituality is best travelled assimilating pearls of wisdom contained in sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism... the doctrine given to mankind by Lord Krishna in battle of Mahabharata. Lord Krishna... an avatar of his era (God manifest in human form) was an exemplary individual who succeeded in re-establishing Dharma (righteousness) in times of strife!

Whenever humanity reached a point of no return... whenever life seemed losing its meaning... coming of an avatar of that era was mandated by God Almighty. In present times of tribulation people awaited coming of Bhagavan Kalki... an avatar of present era (God manifest in human form)! This one-man army would be a lethal combination of man god and Chanakya!

Man gods can be many but avatar is one and only one! As per Hinduism scriptures... as detailed in Bhagavad Gita life comes full circle every 3500 to 5000 years! To start the new era... coming of an avatar (God manifest in human form) was mandated! In prevailing circumstances even a man god like Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ or Prophet Mohammed would fail!

Chanakya... the most versatile administrator in the entire history of mankind was one who had no parallel in mankind! Chanakya got hundred kings eliminated in one night. So much was the fury of this one-man army that to save lives of millions of army men and citizens... Chanakya got hundred kings murdered in one night! Still, Chanakya did not incur any sin as per Bhagavad Gita!

To save lives of millions if a few sinners are eliminated... no sin is incurred as stated by Lord Krishna in battle of Mahabharata between Pandava and Kaurava Kings. The doctrine of Bhagavad Gita given by Lord Krishna is explicitly clear on this point! Bhagavan Kalki would be a combination of an administrator like Chanakya coupled with powers of man god like Mahavira!

This ruthless combination would ultimately result in death of 5.5 million people at hands of Bhagwan Kalki... the awaited messiah of masses... a savior who finally succeeds in re-establishing Dharma (forces of righteousness) against evil forces of adharma (lawlessness)! Such a one... the revered Bhagavan Kalki would be termed Antichrist by followers of Christianity!

Another glaring fact of Hinduism is... enlightenment by human beings could never be gained via path of religion... path of rituals! No point visiting temples, churches or mosques! No matter how many dips ones took in sacred River Ganges... bad karma can never be negated that way! Our indulgence in path of jnana yoga... path of absolute wisdom was the only way out!

Unless we acted like human beings... unless we cared more for human beings at large... unless we cared for lower forms of life... no point indulgence in Bhagavad Gita... the foremost of all sacred scriptures existing on mother earth! The wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita can only be assimilated by truthful people... never by one who travelled path of religion... path of rituals!

In domain of God Almighty there is no place for extravagant, flamboyant ostentatious display of material wealth earned through dubious means! Those who merited gaining enlightenment were humble to core... ordinary mortals who always cared more for community service than personal benefit!

In present scientific age... we do not find serious travellers of spirituality! In my 54 years of spiritual travail I have yet to find a person who could explain to me simple definition of God Almighty, meaning of karma, definition of dharma, the methodology and purpose of yoga meditation... path to awakening of kundalini shakti... practice of absolute celibacy!

Hinduism is cradle for jnana (wisdom) gaining which human beings finally reached stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and finally salvation (moksha)! The importance of sacred Bhagavad Gita in Hinduism is foremost! The 700 shlokas verses contained in Bhagavad Gita form epitome of spiritual pursuit... knowing which any human being world over can gain enlightenment!
