Also termed Brahmacharya Vrata in Hinduism... celibacy... the most important factor of life is primarily misunderstood world over! Why? Most human beings linked celibacy with abstinence from a sexual relationship! This was partly correct as physical aspect of celibacy hardly constituted 10% of total job.
90% celibacy was always practiced mentally! Eradicating flow of negative thoughts to our brain in totality is what pure celibacy is all about! One could take a vow of celibacy and abstain from a sexual relationship but what of incessant flow of negative thoughts to our brain? This flow of thoughts to our brain was continuous... totally uninterrupted... unwarranted!
Every second thousands of thoughts flowed to our brain... some positive... others negative! Stemming the flow of these thoughts to our brain in totality is reaching stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi... stage of absolute nothingness when not a single thought flowed to our brain... both positive or negative! This stage usually is reached only by highly accomplished yogis... followers of spirituality! Those involved in baser instincts... never finally made it in life!
Amongst all celibacy facts known to mankind... the most vital part of celibacy dealt with transmuting sexual energy towards the only goal of life! Abstaining from a sexual relationship... controlling the flow of thoughts to our brain... by transmuting sexual energy any human being world over could truly manifest destiny... gain absolute success in life!
Talking of successful celibates’ world over... we find one thing in common! All had finally succeeded in transmuting sexual energy towards the only goal of life! Ask one... and everything becomes clear! However, most human beings would never disclose their inner secrets! Yet, practising celibacy by these successful people was by itself an art!
Truly... the seeds of success in life always laid in practising celibacy... termed Brahmacharya Vrata in Hinduism! Whiling away this most potent cosmic energy through pure physical channels was not for wise... successful ones! We must learn to transmute... redirect... channelised this potential source of cosmic energy towards more creative uses!
That was what success in life was all about! Celibacy truly is linked with gaining absolute success in life!! History of celibacy dates back to times of King Rama... when many renowned sages like Jnanavalakya... compiler and composer of most voluminous Upanishad Brihadarankya gained enlightenment in ones lifetime! King Janaka... father of Sita in Ramayana also gained enlightenment in his lifetime. During times of King Rama and earlier era... whoever gained enlightenment... it simply happened because of their practice of celibacy as detailed in sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism! In Hinduism Celibacy is termed practice of Brahmacharya Vrata.
Celibacy in priesthood as practiced in West is flawed... prime reason why none other than Jesus Christ in West gained enlightenment in their lifetime! Catholic celibacy was truly at fault... prime reason why Christianity feared coming of Antichrist... one who shall unveil to mankind... fallacies in teachings of Christianity! The aftermath of world war 3 would witness demise of papacy in totality! In the field of pure spirituality... untruth never stood ground for long! The teachings of Bhagavad Gita would finally empower both Christian and Islamic dominance!
From the day of inception of mankind... the day first man entered the arena for wise... it was only because of practice of celibacy one finally grew wise. No human being on mother earth could evolve from within in absence of practice of celibacy. True Celibacy demanded remaining truthful in all walks of life! Never invoking negative thoughts is what absolute celibacy was all about! Physical aspect of celibacy is what constituted abstinence from sex! Only by abstaining from a sexual relationship none could travel path of pure spirituality forever!
We had to cleanse our mental focus... our thought pattern! We had to invoke good thoughts... positive thoughts to reach higher realms of spirituality! Celibacy truly was practiced mentally... eradicating flow of negative thoughts to our brain in totality is what pure celibacy all about! For practising true Celibacy one need not go to deep dense jungles (forests) or become a mystic. While remaining within confines Grihastha ashram (family life) any human being world over could easily practice celibacy as was laid down in scriptures of Hinduism!
History is replete with untold Indian sages and saints who by practice of absolute celibacy finally reached cosmic end of life... 8.4 millionth manifestation in their lifetime! Celibacy and health were directly interrelated! By practising absolute celibacy... both men and women could experience perfect health... hundred upon hundred! Such was the impact of pure celibacy on health of human beings that one gained immortality of the soul meaning... the immune system of the body reached infinity! Sages and saints of yester era always maintained a healthy body... their immunity of the body almost maintaining at hundred percent!
Ever since I realized God in 1993... Immunity of my body increased multifold that in the last 19 years... very mild fever overtook me only three times! I have a persistent nausea all the time... every second of life! It was for the reason that whenever a negative thought entered my thinking process... it decayed through my nose! For all practical purposes I have developed total immunity towards any kind of external ailment!
For example... if I fractured my bone... I definitely could not repair it of my own and would need medical attention but any kind of fever or external ailment could not affect me now! By practising pure Celibacy... one truly enjoyed all benefits of healthy living! Celibacy Hinduism truly was at its best! Celibacy in Hinduism does not mean abstention from sexual relationship alone! Physical celibacy accounted for 10% of total job... 90% celibacy always been practiced mentally!
Eradicating flow of negative thoughts to our brain in totality is what pure celibacy is all about! Our health directly relates to our thinking. Those who were more positive in life always maintained a healthy body! Those with a negative attitude suffered most of time even bodily! For improving our health... we must improve our thinking! By maintaining a positive attitude in life... by practising pure celibacy... we not only maintained perfect health but also achieved our goal of life!
In the field of pure spirituality... both celibacy and health played a pivotal role. In absence of a healthy body one could not travel spiritual path sincerely and diligently! Even when married one could maintain a healthy body by practising physical aspect of celibacy and also invoking positive thoughts... good thoughts all the time! In India particularly many people suffered most of time because they developed a habit of invoking negative thoughts most of time.
We must always remember... health benefits of celibacy were immense... uncountable! Why not practice celibacy and improve our present and future! Physical indulgence only mars our future. For a few moments of physical pleasure... why mar away this most potential source of cosmic energy... we termed sexual energy! Truly... sexual energy was the most potent energy made available to mankind by grace of God Almighty.
By transmuting sexual desires... we could
truly manifest destiny... become absolute master and controller of life forever! Voluntary
Celibacy
As ordained by God Almighty... as contained in scriptures of Hinduism... celibacy was always voluntary! None in Hinduism could force another to practice voluntary celibacy at any stage of life! Every one was free to follow ones path to God Almighty. The teachings of Bhagavad Gita were absolutely clear on the topic of celibacy... "Spiritual traveler... you needed practising celibacy to reach God in present life!
However, definition of celibacy had a different connotation in Hinduism as compared to Christianity! Celibacy in Christianity all the time referred to abstention from sexual relationship... nothing beyond that! These were half baked teachings concerning practice of celibacy. Absolute celibacy could only be practiced via path of spirituality as detailed in Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism! As explained in Bhagavad Gita physical aspect of celibacy constituted hardly 10% of total job!
Bhagavad Gita clearly stated that celibacy
always needs to be practiced mentally! Eradicating flow of negative thoughts to our brain in totality is what
celibacy was all about! This could only be exercised voluntarily... mentally! Eradication of negative thoughts
entering our brain could only be affected by the individual concerned... never others... even highly
accomplished spiritual masters!
Physical aspect of voluntary celibacy involved abstaining from a sexual relationship however, as per Bhagavad Gita... a maximum of two indulgences per month were permitted (one was preferable)! It was by practice of voluntary Celibacy for a minimum period of 12 years in continuation human beings finally awakened their Kundalini Shakti fully! Full kundalini awakening requires our practising celibacy as explained and detailed in Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism!
Establishing absolute control over flow of negative thoughts to our brain is a difficult task! We can do it if we possessed willpower demonstrated by Swami Vivekananda! Voluntary Celibacy is never practiced that easily... it always demanded highest level of patience, persistence and perseverance that could ever be practiced by human beings! One had to almost maintain perfection in everything one indulged!
Most human beings who equated voluntary Celibacy with abstaining from physical sex were total ignorants on path of pure spirituality... prime reason why such people failed to scale higher brackets of spiritual life! Unless we had the capability to overpower celibacy... full kundalini awakening would always remain a dream!
Life in spiritual field was never based on rhetoric... only by remaining truthful, sincere and diligent could we practice celibacy for a period of 12 years in continuation! Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana did it... so could others! By practising absolute celibacy for a period of 12 years in continuation... by following path of jnana yoga... absolute wisdom Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana finally reached stage of enlightenment in their lifetime!
Voluntary Celibacy is best practiced
Hinduism way of life! By following precepts of spirituality detailed in Bhagavad Gita any human being world over
could easily practice voluntary celibacy as demanded by spiritual path! Simply taking vow of celibacy does not
mean anything! We had to sincerely follow laws of celibacy to affect full awakening of kundalini energy... the
coiled serpentine energy lying dormant in base of spine!
Every second thousands of thoughts flowed to our brain involuntarily. Some were positive others negative! Stopping flow of incessant thoughts to our brain in totality is practising true celibacy that finally led to God Almighty. When not a single thought reached our brain of its own... one finally reached stage of Nirvikalpa samadhi... stage of absolute nothingness. This is the stage every Yogi... every Jnani always yearned for.
In spiritual parlance the physical aspect of celibacy played a limited but crucial role. We had to transmute sexual energy towards the only goal of life. Channelizing sexual energy towards our desired goal required both men and women practising celibacy... the physical aspect... abstinence from a sexual relationship! As per Bhagavad Gita a maximum of two sexual indulgences per month were permitted... one was desirable!
True celibacy was only necessitated when human beings traveled spiritual path. For normal human beings celibacy becomes necessitated when we desired gaining absolute success in life. By transmuting sexual energy towards any goal of life human beings gained absolute success... true happiness that could never be gained otherwise. Ask any successful entrepreneur world over... story is always the same... transmuting sexual energy they all achieved success!
On path of pure spirituality... celibacy needs to be practiced to its extreme end. For a practitioner of celibacy on spiritual path... all relationships of physical manifest world finally came to naught. A true celibate traveling spiritual journey knows that every serious spiritual seeker only had three relationships with woman folk... that of mother, sister and daughter! There never ever was a fourth relationship. Marital celibacy always meant living like brother and sister.
Even through his married life... Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa in the earlier stages of his life treated his wife... consort as his eternal mother. Every single day of his life he prayed to Ma Sharda... his betrothed wife. Every form of carnal relationship for Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa was a sin. Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa wanted to gain absolute purity in all affairs of life. How could he indulge in a sexual relationship with Ma Sharda... his beloved wife!
Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa became an enlightened one in his lifetime. It was only by practice of celibacy he finally succeeded in full awakening of Kundalini Shakti... the coiled Serpentine energy lying dormant in base of spine. No sooner that happened... Sahasra Pushpa (thousand petaled Lotus) existing in brain behind forehead opened fully. Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa immediately reached stage of an enlightened one... became a bodhi ... a Jina... a Mahavira!
For serious seekers of spirituality taking a vow of celibacy was an absolute must! Although celibacy and abstinence were directly connected but major part of celibacy was always practiced mentally. Celibacy in marriage was all the more difficult to practice. Every human being on mother earth could not become a Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa. Swami Vivekananda always remained a bachelor in life... for him practising celibacy was easier compared to Ramakrishna Paramhansa!
The field of enlightenment was practically meant for men... never women! Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism clearly stipulates that to gain enlightenment every woman folk must manifest form of a man to reach stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana). The feeling of Moha (extreme emotional attachment) with which all ladies have been imbibed with makes it difficult for women to gain enlightenment... reach stage of Nirvikalpa samadhi!
In the entire history of mankind only two ladies till date finally made it to end... the famous philosopher saint Gargi and Maitreyi... the second dutiful wife of saint Jnanavalakya... composer and compiler of most voluminous Brihadarankya Upanishad (treatise). Women who desired gaining absolute success in life need practising celibacy... never otherwise! This aspect of celibacy was purely physical... never mental!
Human beings who had the capability to
practice celibacy mentally could reach any bracket of life... no matter what! For a laborer to become a king...
practice of absolute celibacy as detailed in Bhagavad Gita was necessitated. Celibacy truly was a very delicate
art... practising which human beings tasted success all-around. As per Bhagavad Gita... celibacy was never
involuntary. It was voluntary practice of celibacy that mattered most.
