Big bang theory was a much debated subject few decades ago until it was finally accepted by most scientists’ world over as the cause of origin of cosmos. The acceptance of big bang theory by scientific fraternity as undeniable proof of creation of cosmos was a matter of speculation for long but in Hinduism sacred texts... details of big bang theory existed in totality since beginning of time. In Hinduism... evidence of big bang theory has never been matter of speculation. Why?
As per sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism... the most sacred scripture of Hinduism at large... the big bang explosion finally resulted in creation of present cosmos (not universe... as cosmos consisted of many universes). Cosmos is termed Brahmaand in Hinduism.
Even though the present scientific fraternity accepted big bang theory as irrefutable proof of creation of present cosmos... it still could not conclude anything related to what caused the big bang explosion. The singularity that existed at the time of big bang occurrence is often debated in scientific circles.
As spirituality is beyond capture of science... none in scientific fraternity today could truly understand what big bang theory in totality was all about. This complex phenomenon became absolutely clear to Albert Einstein... the famous physicist when he deliberated on teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita.
Albert Einstein could clearly visualize that it was something the size of half a thumb that resulted in big bang explosion. But the identity of this object... the size of half a thumb was hidden in Bhagavad Gita. Albert Einstein the physicist was able to identify this object as God Almighty but to present such a provoking theory to scientific fraternity of his time was beyond his thinking!
Albert Einstein was so pleased to indulge in teachings of Bhagavad Gita that in later stages of his life... he spent most of his time reading Bhagavad Gita. Albert Einstein was the only scientist in world who deliberated on Bhagavad Gita to whatever extent possible. Before he indulged more... he left his mortal frame.
As per Bhagavad Gita... the doctrine given to mankind by Lord Krishna in the battle of Mahabharata, God Almighty was that singularity in the beginning of cosmos, explosion of which resulted in creation of present cosmos. And why would God Almighty explode self to form present cosmos? This concept of pure spirituality can only be understood by an ardent seeker of spirituality... never a scientist... or a commoner... one from masses!
God Almighty exploded self with a big bang as it was beyond his means not to do so. For understanding concept of big bang theory... we have to travel back in time... to the stage when dissolution of old cosmos occurred (termed Pralaya in Hinduism)! At the time of dissolution of old cosmos, volume of entire cosmos... the size of entire cosmos reduced to size of half a thumb. And why would that be?
At the time of dissolution of old cosmos... as per sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism... every single soul atman in cosmos reached 8.4 millionth manifestation... last in cosmic life cycle! Devoid of all dross impurities within... all souls’ atmans in cosmos regained their original pure prime pristine primordial form. This cluster of all pure souls’ atmans in cosmos at the time of dissolution of cosmos is what we called God Almighty in all its glory.
In Hinduism a soul is termed atman.
In absence of dross impurities within... the entire cluster of all souls’ atmans in cosmos in their purified form carried the volume of half the size of a thumb. This tiny ball... the size of half a thumb... what scientists’ world over termed as singularity in the beginning of cosmos is God Almighty in all its glory. And amazingly... a portion of God Almighty in miniscule form existed within every living being including human beings as our soul atman... the spirit within.
No sooner dissolution of old cosmos completed... and God Almighty regained its lost original pure prime pristine primordial form, the size of half a thumb... this cluster of pure souls atmans (we called God Almighty) unable to contain itself for long in its prime pure state again exploded with a big bang... resulting in formation of a new cosmos... a new journey of life!
As per Bhagavad Gita every soul atman undergoes a maximum of 8.4 million manifestations before it finally liberates self from cycle of birth and death forever. The impurities are gained by souls' atmans during their cosmic sojourn caused by big bang explosion. Similar as a rolling ball gathers moss... the hurtling souls' atmans in their cosmic sojourn gathered impurities.
To cleanse self of dross impurities within starts cosmic life cycle of every soul atman. The initial 7.3 million manifestations by a soul atman occurred in insect, plant and animal life. In the remaining 1.1 million manifestations in human form... we are expected to reach stage of self realization... God realization... also termed enlightenment!
This simply means God Almighty... big bang explosion... journey of souls' atmans... path of spirituality was all intimately connected. It also means that to understand total concept of big bang theory... indulgence in Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism was necessitated. Unless one undertook spiritual journey as detailed in Bhagavad Gita... one could never truly understand what big bang theory was all about.
Most human beings on mother earth would never accept the fact that it was God Almighty who exploded self to form present cosmos. In the circumstances... what was the remedy? To understand concept of singularity as mentioned in big bang theory... understanding structure of God Almighty was an absolute must. No other scripture on mother earth was as potential as sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism.

All bondages of immediate family coming to naught forever... a spiritual traveler finally gained absolute purity as a soul atman at the end of spiritual journey. In spiritual terms... one finally reached stage of self realization... god realization... also termed enlightenment! One finally becomes an enlightened one... a bodhi... a Jina. In Hinduism a soul is termed atman. If an individual particle of sand is an independent soul atman... the whole mound God Almighty. This also means God Almighty existed within every living being including human beings in miniscule form as our soul atman. To reach our true inner self... to become a pure soul atman... is the prime purpose of spirituality. If spirituality and big bang theory are intrinsically connected as per Hinduism scriptures... we can do nothing about it! Knowing big bang theory is indulging in spiritual precepts... the domain of God Almighty! Existence of life on mother earth is enough evidence of existence of big bang theory. Big bang occurrence billions of years ago has always remained an irrefutable fact of life in Hinduism. To know more about big bang theory... indulgence in Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism becomes necessitated. One can indulge in Bhagavad Gita only by traveling path of absolute truthfulness... always and ever. One who is not truthful can never travel path of pure spirituality ever. Path of spirituality simply means traveling path of truth but only truth! The timeline of the big bang theory starts from the point when great big bang explosion occurred. As science indicates... above 13.7 billion years have passed since occurrence of big bang explosion took place. In Hinduism mythology... this period of 13.7 billion years also appears to be correct. As human beings what is important to us is understanding concept of big bang theory in totality. The present cosmos came into existence with occurrence of big bang when God Almighty exploded self to start a new cycle of life. The explosion of God Almighty is a cyclic process... with even God Almighty having no say in the matter.
When dissolution of old cosmos occurred... the entire cosmos reduced to size of half a thumb. This magnanimous primordial cosmic energy... the size of half a thumb... unable to contain itself for long in its prime pure state again explodes with a big bang... giving rise to a new cosmos... a new journey of life! It is an absolute fact of life that in absence of dross impurities within... the total cluster of all souls’ atmans in cosmos occupied the volume of half a thumb.

As per Bhagavad Gita... immediately after occurrence of big bang... all pure souls’ atmans scattered all over cosmos at unimaginable speeds. In the melee, pure souls' atmans gathered impurities similar as a rolling ball gathers moss. To cleanse self of dross impurities within... started cosmic life cycle of every soul atman.
As per Bhagavad Gita every soul atman in its lifetime manifested a maximum of 8.4 million bodies that required a total cosmic sojourn of 96.4 million years. Of 8.4 million manifestations on the whole... initial 7.3 million manifestations by a soul atman occurred in insect, plant and animal form. The remaining 1.1 million manifestations by a soul atman occurred in human form.
As per Bhagavad Gita human beings are expected to reach stage of enlightenment at the end of cosmic journey... i.e. reaching 8.4 millionth manifestation at the earliest. The human form is the highest manifest stage in life cycle of a soul atman. It is only in human form... a soul atman finally liberated self from cycle of birth and death forever.
Right from stage of big bang effort of every soul atman always remained regaining its lost original pure prime pristine primordial form at the earliest. When human beings traveled spiritual path... our soul atman felt extremely comfortable. It is only by traveling path of spirituality... human gods like Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed finally gained enlightenment in their lifetime.
For an enlightened one... understanding precepts of spirituality, origin of cosmos was not difficult. The moment human beings gained enlightenment... everything related to cosmos including big bang theory timeline became absolutely clear. The concept of big bang is not a scientific precept... rather it is purely a spiritual term. Why?
Big bang theory directly relates to God Almighty. God Almighty directly relates to world of souls atmans. If we exist... if life existed in cosmos... it proves beyond doubt evidence of big bang theory. No matter how many times scientists world over elaborated on big bang theory... but precepts of spirituality contained in Bhagavad Gita were foolproof.
Belief in big bang theory timeline... belief in big bang theory evidence was not a matter of contemplation as per Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism. Atheists or no atheists... the existence of God Almighty could never be disputed at any stage of life. If Hinduism scriptures said so... if Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism stated so... it is in our interest to accept existence of God Almighty in totality.
Stated indirectly... existence of human beings proved existence of souls atmans. Existence of souls' atmans proved existence of God Almighty. And existence of God Almighty confirms origin of cosmos through massive big bang explosion! As human beings... who had a limited time span of 70 to 80 years... we must always do bidding of our soul atman, follow dictates of our soul atman by hearing sweet small inner voice of our soul atman that seemed to come from within our heart. The voice of our soul atman always guides us on the right path.
As to query... who discovered the big bang theory... for most human beings the answer would simply be the scientific fraternity! For information of public at large... every minutest detail relating to big bang theory exists in sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism... the doctrine given to mankind by Lord Krishna in the battle of Mahabharata above 3600 years before now. Furthermore, Hinduism is considered the oldest religion of the world.
Theory of origin of cosmos (not universe) is explicitly detailed in Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism... foremost of all sacred scriptures existing on mother earth. Hinduism scriptures consist of many Vedas of which four are primary... Rig Veda, Sama Veda, Yajur Veda and Atharva Veda! As these Vedas being voluminous were out of reach of commoners... masses, with coming of Lord Krishna... the gist of these Vedas was reduced to sacred Bhagavad Gita... the Bible of Hinduism!
Primarily everything related to Hinduism is contained in Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism. Bhagavad Gita is also termed Vedanta... end of Vedas (Veda + anta which means end)! As per Hinduism scriptures... details regarding big bang theory were directly revealed to mankind by God Almighty himself through Vedas (Hinduism revelations). As per Hinduism scriptures the scientific fraternity only discovered theory after theory. Ever since cosmos came into being... everything existed in cosmos only to be unveiled at a later stage!
If the Hubble telescope or the scientific paraphernalia was available earlier... the discovery of big bang theory by scientists could have been affected earlier. Bhagavad Gita... the spiritual document of Hinduism is beyond reach of science. Spirituality starts from the point where science ends. Science demands proofs that are not forthcoming in the field of pure spirituality. The path of spirituality is directly governed by absolute faith in God Almighty. Only a seeker of spirituality who had total faith in God Almighty finally made it to end... reached 8.4 millionth manifestation!
For an enlightened one... understanding precepts of big bang theory was much easier than for a scientist! Truly the concept of big bang theory falls in domain of spirituality... not science! Traveling path of spirituality... any human being on mother earth could understand origin of cosmos through big bang theory much more easily than scientific path.
Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism always talks in terms of absolutes. The different theories on the origin of the universe carried no meaning in Hinduism. Whatever was detailed in Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism concerning big bang theory was absolute. Nothing in the world can change this concept of evolution of cosmos from big bang theory. As per Bhagavad Gita... it is only when God Almighty exploded self with a big bang... the present cosmos formed!
